A great morning to walk to Pamplona. A little cold but blue skies. Leaving about 7:15 there were locals on their way home from Zubiri Day festivities, cervesas in hand.

The walk followed the Rio Arga most of the way, through well groomed paths in light forest until the bridge where coffee and snacks were on offer.
Lots of g’days and howreyagoings later the path clung to the side of a hill until flicking in to the next valley where the outer burbs of Pamplona started.

Pamplona is a fortified city on top of a hill. Lots of narrow streets and bars a plenty. First stop after Albegue check-in was Cafe Iruña – Ernesto Hemingway’s haunt.
A great city – glad I’m here for two nights.
