After a haircut, sunscreen from a pharmacy, breakfast, a stamp at the cathedral (accommodations didn’t seem to have one) and a browse at a hiking shop – a short, unscheduled walk today. Deciding not to take a ‘tourist’ day in Burgos, it was good to break out of the city and put some kms behind it.
Bastion, an attorney from Colorado pinned my ears to the back of my head for the first 6k’s, but after he stopped for a drink break the path fell quiet again.
Nothing spectacular today, highway crossings and farmland. 30° but felt warmer and struggling after the near 40k day yesterday.
After a longish stop at Tardajos for lunch (sandwich, coffee and coke), walked the last 2k to the albergue Liberanos Domine in Rabé de las Caldzadas.
The Albergue was nearly empty, being a ‘mid-stage’ stop. Dario the Italian, who I first met in Navarrete, was my roommate. The other was a german woman.
We enjoyed a massive but simple dinner and hit the hay early.
