With the day 1 euphoria and party atmosphere behind us, today feels like things are getting more real.
After a great breakfast and a good chin wag with the English couple from Dorset it was time to head off into the cool morning.
Again I took a wrong turn, somewhere on the old path up the hill and out the back of St Privat. But again – this provided a vantage point to look over the village.

Today it was a good walk on easy paths (except for the big hill after Monistrol d’Allier). The destination, through more beautiful countryside, farms with healthy and happy cattle was Sauges.

Arriving tired and already with sore feet, I stayed at the Gîte Municipal, where I met Antoni from Montpellier.

After a beer at an outside bar/terrace, I wandered over to Le Petit Chez Soi for dinner. An American/Chinese couple, husband Californian and wife from Shanghai, and their 20-something brainiac son joined. They were touring the countryside and were curious about the Camino.
Back at the Gîte and setting up for the second night’s sleep it felt like the last 5 years didn’t exist and I was back home, especially with my crunched toes – I already feel like one toenail’s days are numbered.
The next morning was going to be a bit complicated and I needed sleep. Antoni kindly warned me of the likelihood of his snoring – but I didn’t hear a thing and I slept like a top.
